The Home and Community Care Program provides a range of services to assist frail, older people and people with disabilities and their carers, to maintain independent living at home. An assessment of individual needs occurs prior to the commencement of service. The Home and Community Care team work closely with the District Nursing service.
Services include domestic assistance, home maintenance, personal care and respite.
basic cleaning service and other day to day assistance including:
- General household duties such as vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms.
- Washing and ironing.
- Shopping and errands such as paying accounts and banking on behalf of the client.
- Meal preparation.
- Changing batteries in smoke detectors.
- Changing light globes.
- Shrub trimming for safe access to the home.
- Cleaning gutters.
- In conjunction with an Occupational Therapist, advise clients on safety aids and minor home modifications.
- People aged 65 years and over.
- People with a disability.
- Carers (usually on a carers pension).
- Eligibility criteria for service is also decided at a formal assessment.
Monday - Friday: 8.30 am > 5.00 pm Weekdays and Weekends: 5.00 pm > 8.30 am (after hours / on call)

Minimal fees apply based on a client's income level, and are determined after an assessment with a Home and Community Care Assessment officer.
