Gippsland Lakes Community Health - Services - Aged and Disability Services - Palliative Care


Palliative Care and Bereavement Support



This program is provided to clients with life limiting illnesses and their families with the overall aim of maximising quality of life.

The services provided include:

  • Pain and Symptom Management (in consultation with the client's Doctor).
  • General Nursing Care and support.
  • Equipment Loan Service.
  • Bereavement Support.

The service also provides trained palliative care volunteers who are able to give support to the client and carer eg Respite for the carer.

Bereavement support is provided by a trained grief counsellor along with the palliative care nurses.



Who can use the service?
People with a terminal illness and their carers.



Hours of Opening:

Monday - Friday: 8.30 am > 4.30 pm (routine visits) 
Saturday and Sunday: 8.30 am > 2.30 pm (routine visits)

*On call service available as required.
