GP services are provided at our Lakes Entrance site with outreach services to our Metung and Bruthen sites. They are available by appointment and home visits are available via conversation with your doctor should your condition prevent you from attending the clinic.

GP services are also sub-contracted to Nowa Nowa Community Health and Lake Tyers Health and Children's Services with electronic records linked to all sites.

Medical Practice - Routine Appointments

An appointment is required for all routine medical consultations. Appointments are made by phoning 5155 8300 during the hours of 8.00am-6pm, Monday to Friday.

Please advise reception staff if...

  • You have a preferred GP
  • A longer consultation is required
  • More than one person needs to be seen
  • Your personal details to be updated
  • You need to cancel your appointment

We work as a team in an attempt to provide timely services and continuity of care, with waiting times as short as possible, however emergencies will always be given priority.

Our reception staff will keep you informed should any unforeseen delays affect you. Please notify the reception desk if you have not been seen within 30 minutes of your appointment time.

Emergency and Urgent Care

The Lakes Entrance practice is a well equipped facility with an experienced nurse on the premises for assessment and initial care between the hours of 8.00 am - 8.00 pm, Monday to Friday; and

8.00 am - 2.00 pm, Saturday and Sunday.

A doctor is on-call for all urgent medical care.

After Hours Arrangements

Lakes Entrance: if an emergency arises outside of the hours noted above, please contact either the Ambulance Service by telephoning 000 or for general medical advice contact Nurse-On-Call 1300 60 60 24.

Home Visits

Home visits within the Lakes Entrance, Bruthen and Metung townships are available via conversation with your doctor should your condition prevent you from attending the clinic.

Contacting Doctors by Telephone

To minimise interruptions during consultations the doctors prefer not to accept phone calls for non-urgent matters. They ask that you give the details to the receptionist along with your contact phone number and the doctor will return your call when they have a free moment.

Urgent matters will be put through to the duty nurse.

Repeat Prescriptions

A repeat prescription service is available for regular clients of the practice with a charge of $10.00 per request, however it is essential that we have a minimum of 48 hours notice before you can expect to collect your script. As an alternative we now offer twice weekly Bulk Billed Script Only Clinics, please call for an appointment.

Please note that some medications can not be repeated without further consultation with your doctor. In this case an appointment will be required.
