Become a Volunteer

People volunteer for many different reasons and in many different ways. There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from making a difference to other people in your local community.

Volunteering offers many other rewards too. You can learn new skills and gain valuable experience in a wide range of skills. It's also a great way to meet new people who share your interests.

At GLCH you can volunteer as much or as little time as you want. Once a week, once a fortnight, a month – whatever suits the individual.

Volunteers can contribute in the following areas:

  • Deliver a meal
  • Transport people to medical appointments
  • Assist a planned activity group
  • Palliative Care and bereavement support
  • Deliver a book as part of our home based library service
